We offer the unique service of providing a "Tea Wash" antique finish for your Oriental rugs.   The Tea Wash effect is that of an "Old World" or antique finish for your Oriental rugs.  If you have a rug that is too bright or you wish it had a more "antique" look, we provide an amber finish treatment that will mellow and mute the bright colors, giving your rug a rich, antique amber appearance.  The mellowing effect can be called by different names including " tea wash", "amber wash", "antique wash", "tea stain", "tea finish", and "Old World Wash."  Below are actual photos of Oriental rug samples that have been given our Antique Finish. 

Darker Finish     

This is the darker effect.  While the effect in the pictured sample appears to be very dark, when viewing an entire rug, the effect is moderate.  The darker effect is our most popular but we also provide a more lighter, more subtle effect as pictured below.

Lighter Finish     

Again, the sample appears to be fairly dark but the overall appearance on the Oriental rug is much lighter and more subtle than the dark Antique Finish.  Each Oriental rug reacts a bit differently but we can control the lightness and darkness very well to closely achieve the desired effect.  The Oriental rug Antique "Tea Wash" finish is available for hand made wool rugs and kilims and machine made wool rugs.
